How does your deal service work, RadarGuy?

Text me the name of the neighborhood you're in and I'll check to see if I know of any hot deals in the vicinity. If I find something, I'll tell you where the business is located and send you a discount code to give to the store owner. The business owner verifies the discount code and gives you the discount on your bill. Sound easy, huh?

Sign up to get deals by text message by sending a text to (202) 559-4294 or by signing up on the homepage. I may text you occasionally to see if you'd like a deal nearby, but you can reply "stop" at any time to stop receiving texts from me for good.

How is this different from a daily deals service like Groupon?

I love daily deal services. But they leave a lot to be desired. They send me deals I have to remember to use in the next six months. They might be anywhere in my city. I wanted people to be able to find out about deals RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW - not across town, not tomorrow. I couldn't find a deals service that did this, so I created one.

RadarGuy is different from the new instant deals services in that (a) we share the BEST deals available (including happy hours, specials, etc.), not only the ones where we make money directly, and (b) you don't need a smartphone to get sweet deals on the go -- you only need to be able to send a text message. Of course, smartphones will work, too ;)

How much does it cost to get deals from you?

I don't charge you a cent! I make money from advertisers who want you to see their deals. Note that mobile carriers (Verizon, AT&T, etc.) may charge you a fee to send or receive text messages. Check with your provider to confirm what your rate is. If you've got an unlimited texting plan, the service is otherwise completely free!

Can I advertise with you?

Sure can. You can create an account, set up a new deal, and pay for it without ever talking to me! To begin with, I'm charging 50 cents for each text delivered to a consumer. That's a great deal in and of itself - but be warned, it might not last!

Who are you, RadarGuy?

I'm a mysterious cape-wearing stranger with radar goggles! Although you'll never meet me, I keep an eye out for you, helping you live life a little better - without spending a lot of money.
